The massive world of Crema Marfil

Marmol Crema Marfil is a beige coloured marble extracted principally in the mountain called El Coto in Pinoso (Alicante, Spain). Stone extracted in the nearby areas is also in the commercial sense sold under the same name, the original being from the El Coto mountain. An important local processing industry has developed around this material, with many factories located in the nearby towns of Novelda, Monforte del Cid, La Romana, Monovar, Pinoso, Elda and Algueña The total number of people directly employed in the stone industry developed mainly as a result of the extraction and processing of Crema Marfil (but also including a large variety of other stones both extracted within Spain and imported), is estimated to be 5000.

Each and every marble tile is unique; because it is a natural stone,

Naturally Unique Design

Each and every marble tile is unique; because it is a natural stone, there is no way that each tile can be exactly the same. The natural color all depends on the specific mineral content in the marble. Homeowners find this to be either an advantage or disadvantage. It’s a disadvantage if you want to achieve a very uniform look. But if you want a natural, one-of-a-kind look, then marble is a great option.Standard tile sizes are 12″x12″x3/8″,18″x18″x9,16″18″x18″x3/8″,24″x24″x3/4″CREMAMARFIL6

Special Cleaning Considerations

Even though marble tile is sealed to prevent stains, spills still need to be wiped up promptly, especially if they are acidic in nature. Wine, vinegar, ketchup, fruit juices and any other acidic spills all have the potential to leave a stain if not wiped promptly. Furthermore, you should never use an acid-based cleaner to clean marble tile. Bleach should also never come in contact with marble. The best cleaning tip for marble is to wipe the tiles with a damp cloth when necessary and to sweep with a soft-bristled broom.

Marble is Quarried in Large Chunks

Marble is quarried in large chunks, cut from the surrounding rock and brought to mills where the stone can be further processed. The largest slabs possible are sawn first, then smaller slabs, and finally marble tiles, which are cut in several sizes, most often 12 inches square and about a half inch thick.

MARBLE TILE’S SPECIAL CLEANING CONSIDERATIONS

MARBLEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

Even though marble tile is sealed to prevent stains, spills still need to be wiped up promptly, especially if they are acidic in nature. Furthermore, you should never use an acid-based cleaner to clean marble tile. Bleach should also never come in contact with marble. The best cleaning tip for marble is to wipe the tiles with a damp cloth when necessary and to sweep with a soft-bristled broom.

Marble surfaces, in addition to being beautiful, are extremely durable and versatile. However, they require modest care to protect them from stains, scratches and loss of luster. Polished marble is glossy and smooth to the touch. It is most often used as a wall veneer or as tops for furniture. To maintain polished marble, wash it regularly-weekly, or as necessary-with clear water and mild detergent, applied with a soft cloth or sponge.

What is it about natural stone that people are so drawn to?

What is it about natural stone that people are so drawn to? Maybe it’s the timeless appearance, the fact that it’s not man made, or simply that it stands out as an elegant addition to any home. Either way, there’s no denying its popularity when it comes to surface renovations, and this is especially true for the most used section of the house: your floors. In fact, the most high-end of products, marble flooring, has made a serious jump in terms of sales and installation

There’s a great deal of variety available, so here’s a small list of terms to be familiar with:
Veining: Small lines of color what gives this natural stone its unique look. In fact this veining affect is often referred to as “marbleized” when describing other items.
Gloss: A highly polished version of the stone that makes it reflective and shiny.
Tumbled: A process that distresses and ages the stone so it appears dulled. This soft look creates a milky, creamy color, making it seem buffed rather than glossy.
Honed: A no-gloss variety that has a flat, matte, or satin finish. It creates an earthy affect that’s become popular due to its less formal appeal. Plus, it reduces risk of etching.

Real marble tilesare truly magnificent to look at, they are beautiful and always unique. You will never find two marble surfaces that look exactly the same. Marble gives the sense of grandeur wherever it is laid and is also heavier than porcelain.
